Yes, and will quote on shipping costs. (8x10 is $5 for shipping & handling) |
What if I wear glasses?
|
Wearing glasses can result in large white patches in your eyes, caused by reflections of the large studio lights. If you normally wear glasses, then please wear them, but have the lenses professionally removed by your optician before the session, or ask to borrow empty frames in a similar style that you wear.
Tinted glasses darken from the lights and hide your eyes totally. This can be a BIG problem as your eyes are the focus of any great portrait!
If you want to wear glasses with lenses intact, then I will do my best to accomodate by re-positioning of lights, and limiting the poses. Note: this can impede the creative possibilities & your photos may be more expensive due to the extra post-processing required to fix your eyes.
|
| Mens haircuts & shaves |
Please do not get a haircut within 1 week of the Photo session. Why? Because the closely cropped hair can result in scalp showing, cow licks may be a problem, and you will not look as natural in portrait. Please let your hair fill-in a little.
But please shave before photo session as stubble does not look very good in a portrait. |
| Make-up |
Please wear your day time makeup. Pay close attention to eye makeup and apply it with extra care, because your eyes are the focus of the portrait. Avoid shine & glitter as it reflects the lights and causes white specks on face and eyes. |
| Clothing |
Think about clothing that links the family together visually, for example limiting the tops & shirts to shades of 1 colour, for example, or everyone in jeans and different coloured T-shirts. Do you want a casual look or more dressed up? Dark coloured clothes blend best into dark coloured background, and light coloured clothes into white or light coloured background...and this is good because your beautifyl faces will pop and stand out. Avoid brand names, as this will date the photo and dominate. If you want a full-length portrait, then don't forget about your shoes. Highly colourful banded runners don't work, except if it is a portrait of an athelete or if it is an advertisement for the runners. The word GAP across to socks on kids does not work for the same reasons. |
| How much do prints & re prints cost? |
Please see Price List |
I have a (insert body part from list below) I am self conscious about? Can you fix it in photo?
|
Yes I do 'digital magic'. All portraits include Retouching on Every Portrait at No Extra Charge. Don't worry about your double chin, blemishes, crows feet, scars, stained teeth, etc. These slight imperfections are reduced or removed.
If there is something specific, just ask.
And if you let me know before the at the photo shoot, there are ways to diminish flaws with just with lighting and the way you are posed.
Sometimes in a group photo there will be one person who blinks or looks down and everyone else looks great. It is possible to use 'digital magic' to do a 'head swap' from another similar frame, to make a perfect grouping. Each 'head swap' or other partial swap is $15 each.
