  Newborn 0 to ~8 weeks
Babies can lift their heads only briefly, and sitting up poses at this age look totally unnatural and babies slump over. Posing on tummy is best for newborns & infants up to ~ 6-9 weeks, as the babies will stay in the curled up position.
This is also the ideal time to capture angelic sleeping babies, on back, on side, in baskets, & in parents arms. (Yes, wings are optional)

 Babies 2 to 9 months:
Babies from 2 to 4 months may be posed like this where baby is on back kicking feet up. At this stage they tend to kick and straighten their legs more, and they are smiling and they will grab their toes. They are too old now for the tummy pose as babies will straighten their legs out. |
Babys grow sooooo very fast, and the stages of development are ever-changing, so call now to book an appointment during these fleeting times. |
By 4 months when babies are strong enough to hold up their head, other 'sitting up poses' look natural, with the help of a supportive parent's hand on baby's back &/or sibling at their side. Wings are optional.

Crawlers 9 to 12 months:
Your baby is now able to explore by crawling for sure and just learning to walk. They may already be babbling & walking a 'mile a minute'. I have many poses, beautiful backgrounds to choose from.
Yes, I have costumes in various sizes: pretty party dresses & floral head-dresses in pastel colours for girls. Formal wear and casual denim overalls for boys. You may also choose your babies own clothing for the portrait.
I have various props, floral & leafy head-dresses, flowers, butterflies, baskets, toys, stuffed animals, books, pastel coloured blankets.

Toddlers 1 to 2 year old:
In no time at all your baby is no longer a baby but a growing toddler, and this happens in the blink of an eye. Your little girl or boy is now transformed into a bundle of energy, running, jumping, climbing and exploring.

Talkers 2 to 3 year old:
Challenges galore, but this inquisitive, rebellious child is now on the move but also now responds to some reasonable requests to 'stay put' for just a moment for posing for photographs. Still totally unpredictable, but always a joy!

Pretenders 3 to 4 years:
Imagination kicks in and kids love to play 'make- believe', which works wonderfully for fantasy photographs that include props. Such as pretend fishing, baseball, baking a cake, serving tea at a teddybear tea party, sprinking fairy dust, etc. The possibilities are endless for adorable portraits. Make sure you bring along some of you child's favourite things to incorporate into a photo shoot. Baseball cap, doll, book....etc.

Social Butterflies 4 to 7 years:
Soooo cute, those huge big platter-sized eyes, and long eyelashes, and they still have all their baby teeth. Personality PLUS!

 All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth...Oops, from 5 to 7 years your child begins to loose teeth, and also loosing the baby-look too. Their eyes don't look as big now, although they haven't changed in size. It is just that their rapidly growing bodies are now catching up to the size of their faces. Maturity is showing big-time! Make sure you have portraits of your children throughout the house to help to reinforce a positive self-image.

Learners 7 to 9 years:
Somewhere around age 7 to 8, all the permanent front teeth will be in. A maturity begins to appear, and a self consciousness. Kids will not want to look silly in a portrait. Girls will want to look pretty and boys very handsome.

Preteens 9 to 12 years:
Oh such a complex a little person they are becoming! Peer acceptance is critical, preteens want to look cool and trendy in photos. Portraits should capture their beginning sense of style.

Teens 13 to 15 years:
The boy is nearly a man, the girl is almost a woman. A blemish sends them into an emotional tailspin, so make sure portraits have been retouched to remove the dreaded zits! Excited about portraits that show their skills and aptitudes, whether that is playing basketball or playing the piano.

Young adults getting ready to enter the adult world, to pursue their careers and passions and to leave the nest

22+: All Growed Up!
Adults with all their maturity and grown up personality. Get that great family photo of all of you, before kids start to leave the nest, and move to distant places, and start to form their own new family.
